Concrete Patios in Hickory Hills

Room for the table and the grill. A slab that sheds rain away from your basement.

Big Enough, and Draining the Right Way

Two patio mistakes come up again and again. Too small. And sloped toward the house. Both are cheap to avoid on paper and expensive to fix in concrete. So we start with your furniture. How many chairs. Where the grill goes. How much room to walk around. We mark the outline on the grass and you stand in it. Then the work begins. Sod and soil out. Crushed stone in, packed hard. Boards staked so the slab drops gently from the wall to the yard. The slab is usually about 4 inches thick, with steel when the soil or design calls for it. Finish is your call: brushed for grip, smooth trowel, or stamped and tinted to look like stone. Cut lines follow the outline. Then the patio cures under cover. Many Hickory Hills backyards sit lower or higher than the house, so we check the grade carefully before committing to a pitch.

Patio Work Includes

Every yard differs. The list stays about the same.

  • Furniture-first sizing

Outline set around how you actually use the space.

  • Old patio out

Cracked or sunken slab broken up and hauled away.

  • Hard-packed base

Crushed stone compacted for even support.

  • Falls to the yard

Gentle grade built in. Water drains away from the house.

  • Your finish

    Brushed, troweled slick or stamped.

  • Cut lines

Placed to fit the outline so cracks stay tidy.

  • Damp cure

    Covered while it gains strength.

  • Yard cleaned

Forms out, edges filled, debris gone.

Patio Steps

  1. Size and price

Outline marked, grade checked against the house, written price with depth, base, finish and removal.

  2. Dig and form

Excavation, stone compacted, forms staked with the pitch running away from the foundation.

  3. Pour and finish

Concrete placed and given your finish, joints cut, patio covered through the cure. Then cleanup.

Why Our Patios Last

  • Pitch is decided first

Drainage gets settled before finish. Water against the house costs the most.

  • Same base for every finish

Stamped or brushed, it sits on packed stone.

  • Cured, not rushed

A protected first week keeps the surface from dusting.

  • Sized to your furniture
  • Pitched to the lawn
  • Three finish choices
  • Cured under cover
