Foundation Pours in Hickory Hills

Footings and walls that sit deep, run square and carry the building without complaint.

Get This Part Right Once

You can repaint a room. You can replace a roof. A bad foundation stays with the building. So we slow down here. We work from your plans and talk with your builder before digging. For an addition, that usually means trench footings set below frost depth, then formed walls poured to the height and thickness on the drawings. Detached garages often sit on a slab with a deepened edge instead, over compacted stone. Forms get checked for square and level before the truck shows up. Rebar is placed and tied where the plans call for it. Anchor bolts get set while the mix is still soft, spaced for the framer. Our crew carries Class A Chicago Masonry and Concrete licensing, which keeps us strict about tolerances whether the footing is in the city or out here. If we hit old fill or a buried slab on a Hickory Hills lot, you hear about it right away, with a clear plan for dealing with it. After the cure, forms come off. Framing can begin.

Foundation Work Includes

Your drawings set the scope. Usually it covers these.

  • Plan check

Footing size, wall height and slab design confirmed with your builder.

  • Dig past frost

Trenches deep enough that frozen ground cannot lift the structure.

  • Level footings

Wide bearing footings on firm or properly compacted soil.

  • Formed walls

Forms set plumb and square, braced before the pour.

  • Tied rebar

Steel placed where the drawings show it.

  • Garage slabs

Slab with a deeper rim, over packed stone, when the drawings say so.

  • Anchor bolts

Set in fresh concrete at the spacing your framer needs.

  • Strip and hand over

Forms removed after curing. Site left clear for the next trade.

Foundation Steps

  1. Review and price

Drawings reviewed, site visited, access checked. Written price split into excavation, footings, walls or slab, and steel.

  2. Excavate and form

Trenches dug to depth, footings poured, walls formed and braced with steel in place. Everything checked against the plan.

  3. Pour and cure

Concrete placed and vibrated, anchors set, work protected while it cures. Forms stripped. Framing can start.
