Out with the old drive
Hickory Hills Driveway Replacement
A driveway that carries your cars and stays flat. No sinking where the tires sit.
Three Things a Driveway Needs
Three things. A firm base. The right thickness. A proper cure. Miss one and the driveway shows it within a few winters: sinking at the tire tracks, cracks spreading from the garage, a top layer flaking off from salt. Here is how we replace one. Old slab: jackhammered and trucked off. Ground: dug down, soft pockets removed. Crushed stone goes in and is compacted in layers. The new slab is usually about 5 inches thick for cars, thicker for heavy trucks, with rebar or mesh and a clean connection to the street apron. Joints are laid out on purpose. Top gets a broom drag for grip. Then blankets and water for the cure, and you get a clear date for driving on it. That Class A Chicago Masonry and Concrete license the crew carries is not only for city work; the same habits show up on every Hickory Hills driveway. Split-level homes here often have steep drives, and we set the grade so water heads to the street, not the garage.

Licensed to Chicago's standard
Your drive is poured by a crew carrying Class A Chicago Masonry and Concrete licensing.
A crew lead who calls back
Questions about timing or parking go straight to him, and he answers.
- Old drive removed
- Stone in layers
- Rebar in the slab
- Graded to the street
Driveway Sinking or Splitting?
Tell the crew lead the size and what parks on it. He will cover removal, depth and timing and set a day to measure.
